LZR iRiver and Speedo have teamed to create the LZR Aquabeat Racer. This ergonomic, rubber MP3 player can hold 2GB of memory and will play about 30 minutes per charge. Not only is the device waterproof, it has a depth limit of about 10 ft. It features basic controls such as play/volume/stop/change track and supports MP3 and WMA files. The Aquabeat is only in Japan for now for ¥12,800 ($145.00.)

Hyoutan Speakers The hyoutan is technically a type of cucumber that can be eaten and also used as a sponge, gourd, birdhouse or instrument housing. Bird Electronic in Japan decided that it would also make a pretty good speaker that would produce a “soft and natural” sound. The Hyoukan Speaker Double cone has a mini-adapter to connect to your iPod or other audio player. They can be hung or placed on a shelf and come with a MSRP of ¥ 18,500 ($185.00.)

Plug in an iPod, MP3 player, CD player or any audio other devices with the 3.5mm and phono audio sockets. The lamp itself is independently controlled and prices start at £1200 (~$1264.00,) depending on the base and shade you select.

Crayola realizes that tots are as likely to play with electronics as crayons these days and has a new line designed with them in mind. Their USB EZ Type Keyboard, for $29.99, has bright, oversized keys, but has eliminated the function keys and number pad. The USB EZ Click Mouse, at $14.99, has two buttons, a scroll wheel and a clear body, just for the cutesy effect. Crayola also offers a digital camcorder and camera and an MP3 Player is due out in Q2.

SwiMP3 For aspiring Michael Phelps’ who like to do their laps to music, the Finis SwiMP3 is a perfect answer. The waterproof player uses bone-conduction technology so the sound vibrations are transferred from the cheekbone to the inner ear. Attach to any snorkeling mask or goggles and get 10 hours of tunes before needing a recharge. The integrated panel has on/off, volume, next/previous track, pause, and shuffle control and the 256MB of storage allows about 60 titles. The SwiMP3 has a MSRP of $149.99.

It’s been a while since we have heard from TokyoFlash and it seems that they have expanded their product range beyond their strangely cool line of watches. Their Juke Tower is a waterproof MP3 player that features a red LED digital clock, volume and track skip control buttons and a built-in downward facing speaker. Available in black or white, the player needs a USB memory stick with music and 3 AA batteries that will offer about 12 hours of play. At a size of 18.3 x 7.8cm, the Juke Tower is available for $135.44. Enter the coupon code “KM63” for a ¥600 discount (~$6.00.)

Orange LG G910 Watch Phone

LG Watch Phone It’s Dick Tracy time with Orange’s touch watch/phone. Aside from its full touchscreen interface, the LG G910 has 3G HSDPA, video calling capabilities, a built-in MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity and comes with its own headset. Orange is part of France Telecom which has over 177 million customers and Europe will be the first to enjoy the wearable phone. No exact date or price was mentioned but after reading their press release, the company is undoubtedly going after the higher end customer.

Transcend PF810 Digital Photo Frames

Transcend has two new digital photo frames, the PF810W (white) and PF810B (black.) While most companies offer frames that are basically similar, these have LED lit touch-sensitive interfaces built into the frames. The 810 is an 8-inch 800x600 (4:3) color TFT LCD panel with 2GB of built-in flash and can handle JPG and BMP formats. Choose from slide show or single shot mode. It also has Automatic Orientation Sensor and NaturaTone skin color processing, as well as being equipped with an MP3 player, alarm clock, calendar and an FM tuner.
